The Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF) is a unique global venue for sustained discussions on practical issues related to the sustainable management and development of the mining sector. It serves as a forum for dialogue between member country governments, mining companies and industry associations and represents a growing network of leaders seeking to improve the mining sector’s contribution to sustainable development. Annual sessions and regional meetings of the IGF bring together high-level representatives of developing country governments, donor agencies, international organizations, civil society and the private sector, promoting coordinated action to strengthen good governance in the mining sector.
