Joel McHale ‘cried’ reading new ‘Community’ script

Whenever there’s a discussion of the most beloved sitcoms of all time, Community always appears. The show, which aired its last episode in 2014, continued to attract new audiences enthralled by the unique world of Greendale Community College.

Fans around the world identify with the well-written characters of Community, especially because the show spotlights outcasts struggling for a second chance at life. Although a movie based on the series had been planned from the start, many had lost hope in the potential project.

Recently, creator Dan Harmon confirmed that a new Community the movie is in preparation. Not only that, series star Joel McHale recently spoke about the new film’s storyline, and he claimed it made him emotional to the point of crying.

While talking to packagingthe actor said: “I’m going to look a lot older. I’m not kidding, so you know I’m being sarcastic about literally fucking everything but, uh, there will be tears. We read this board during the pandemic, and I cried like a baby afterwards, and I’m not kidding.

He added: “Everyone thinks what I’m saying is a joke, but it’s like being with – it’s really like a family reunion but without assholes. Because you know, you go to a family and you’re like, ‘Ugh, there’s this cousin of mine. He smells.’ So anyway, we’re really – I can’t wait. Yeah, that’s all I can say.
