Third installment of national minimum wage increase in October

The Fiji Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industry has reminded employers and workers of the third tranche of minimum wage increase which will come into effect on Saturday 1st October 2022.

The new National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate will be $3.67 per hour.

The Ministry urged all employers covered by NMW (Amendment) Regulation 2022 and the 10 sectoral industries (Construction, Civil and Electrical Engineering, Hospitality and Catering, Manufacturing, Mining and Quarrying, Printing, Sawmilling and Logging, Safety Services , wholesale and retail trade, clothing industry, road transport) covered by the Wages (Amendment) Regulations 2022 to make the necessary amendments to their wage records.

He said his labor standards and compliance team would continue to carry out inspections on the implementation of the third pay raise in all workplaces across the country “to ensure that all workers are remunerated with the correct wage rate”.
